Assessment of the state of the analysis of the political and socio-economic situation nowadays in most countries is incomplete and not systematized.
The economic situation is analyzed on the basis of statistical data that does not take into account such an indicator as the population’s perception of the economic processes taking place in the countries and the region.
The socio-political situation is assessed based on disparate sociological measurements that are not general in nature and do not cover all entities.
Regular study of public opinion (in monitoring mode), as the experience of countries conducting such studies shows, allows authorities to receive prompt feedback on a wide range of issues related to the implementation of socio-economic programs, evaluation of initiatives and activities of the authorities, increases the efficiency and effectiveness of monitoring the current social situation. In addition, it is possible to form and correct the image of the authorities only based on an analysis of the public opinion of residents.
The current feedback system in many countries, in the context of increasing requirements for the quality of management, forecasting, and strategic planning, does not allow the authorities to fully implement the tasks set.
Sociological monitoring allows you to use methods by which not only the events taking place are recorded, but also how they are perceived by people. In turn, this makes it possible to comprehensively assess events and serves as an important factor in predicting the behaviors of people in certain situations, as well as to draw up a model of behaviors in subsequent events. Regular receipt of information about the opinion of residents on the activities of the authorities is becoming one of the urgent issues of information and analytical support for managerial decision-making. The organization of monitoring the study of public opinion and the analysis of its results are an integral component of the formation of the image of the authorities among residents.
